We Bought a (town)House!

It’s true. Carly and I finally ended our endless decision making loop of buy / rent / where / what / why / when / how much / how little / how big / how small / AGHHHH and found what we hope will be a wonderful place to live.

It’s a new townhouse development in Clayton Heights / East Cloverdale (which is what you tell people when you don’t want them to know that you really live in Surrey) at 193rd and 69th. We both seemed to fall in love with the place, and after a bunch of hmmm’ing and haawww’ing and number crunching we are officially soon to be homeowners. Our move-in date is the 29th of Feb (GO LEAP YEAR!), and our particular unit is still under construction. The place is 1,980 square feet with 3 bedrooms and an office for yours truly (oh, and a double garage where I can sleep with the car if I’m misbehaved!).

We took the liberty of shooting a few pics in the show home, which happens to be pretty much identical to the place we’ll be in (color scheme included) – so we’ll post them here for your viewing pleasure.

Since only about 4 or 5 people actually know that we’ve made this purchase, I’ll apologize in advance to all my best friends, family, parents, brothers, grandparents, uncles, cousins and anyone else who feels offended that they found out from a blog entry instead of in person.

So without drowning y’all in too many pictures, that’s a brief summary of what our place is going to look like when we move in 121 days. Unfortunately for the in-laws, they’re stuck with me drinking all their coffee until then.
