Sojourn a journey through life

26Sep/060

I’ve joined the quarter century club!

My birthday weekend was a fantastical time! Daniel has out-done himself once again and the news is out...female friends and strangers alike are asking if there may be older siblings available and are even actively seeking out biochemist experts for cloning techniques!

Saturday Night Poolside BBQ

Friends, mainly from CIS, came and went all evening. We BBQ'd, laughed lots and listened to great tunes into the darkness of the night. I received cookbooks, novels, special body lotions, sparkling drinks, hugs, kisses and even a pinch to grow an inch which was prompty retracted upon re-evaluation of the situation at hand.

Sunday Kidnapping

For weeks, Dan has been up to no good with little messages and hints about this special day. There was intel about abductions, talk of torture but mostly just great anticipation building. For the record, Daniel has watched too much Mission Impossible, CSI, Alias and 24 type screen play.

My day started with a great service at church which was then followed by transport in style (yellow or blue taxi cab...I can't recall) to the Shangri-La hotel for High Tea. For 3 hours Daniel and I daintily sipped on a variety of teas and tasted delectable delicacies. In English, we ate and drank WAY too much!

After High Tea Daniel had arranged for me a pedicure as well as a massage at a favorite location near our condo. Upon returning quite relaxed from this pampering I was cruelly locked away in the bedroom with only a Handphone as my communication with the outside world! He had made me a special music selection for my ear's pleasure as he worked away in the kitchen.

In accordance with the theme for the day, reminiscing, Daniel cooked a replica of the first meal he'd ever made for me - Black bean chicken and fettuccine alfredo. Guess what? He baked an apple pie! This is no joke...from scratch he used a recipe online (entitled Apple Pie by Grandma Ople). It was amazing to say the least.

What a fantastic weekend I will not soon let slip my mind.
