WOMAD – Singapore
Last weekend was Singapore’s turn at the World Of Music, Arts and Dance festival. Kim, Leah, Daniel and I enjoyed much music, dance, and refreshments Saturday night. The 3 main bands we viewed were: Chico César (Brazil) Bukky Leo & Black Egypt (Nigeria) and Jimmy Cliff (Jamaica). Though we enjoyed the bands, Daniel and I felt last year’s music was much better – hence why we seemed to spend our time taking photos of ourselves!
JK8
Welcome to JK8. My 2006-2007 class of little ones. Yes, little ones indeed – half of them are still 3 years old! This years nationality make up: 2 Canadian, 1 American, 2 Swiss, 2 Swedish, 1 Irish, 1 Belgian, 2 Australian, 1 Japanese, 1 Korean, 1 Indian, 1 Singaporean, and 2 British. Of course these nationalities are often arbitrary as we are all from everywhere – my Global Children.

Thanks Kim and Leah for your help with our dangly body project!
Our New Place – Parc Palais
Ok, so the past few days have been a little bit mental, the details of which can be left for another post (if ever). But at any rate, as promised, here at last, photos from our new place!
So, starting with everyone’s favorite room in the house, the bathroom:

Followed by my “office” – in a state of shambles, which is fairly normal.

Our spare bedroom – come visit! Complete with Maple candies on the pillow.

Here is the dining and living area.

And this is our bedroom, along with the ensuite bathroom. Not sure why we’re missing a picture of the bathtub and shower and stuff, I guess it’s not that important.

This is the garden path leading up to our building from the pool.

So – that’s going to have to do for now, no pictures of the tennis courts or BBQ pits. Such is life. The sooner you come visit, the sooner we can all hang out by the pool with a glass of Shiraz
Japan – Tokyo
At long last, we come to the conclusion of this blogging mayhem. Tokyo (in my opinion) was not as spectacular as I had imagined, but I think that a lot of that was due to our dungeon-like crap accommodation (but I won’t go off on that here, this blog is G-Rated). I think more time in Tokyo would have been in order, and by this time, we were also exhausted.
We went to the crazy Tsukiji fish market market and watched the chaos there, Carly and I didn’t find any fish, or try to dart through the traffic because we feared for our lives, so instead we were content to wander the stalls, and watch people drinking beer and eating sushi at 8am.

It was also awesome just to watch the people buzzing around this 35 million person metropolis and surrounding area.

It was enjoyable to wander the city at night, see the traffic, the lights. Tokyo tower was quite a pretty sight as well.

The Grand Palace was a nice stop, and an interesting change of scenery sprawling quite a number of acres smack dab in the middle of the city. This shot is just one tiny corner of the moat surrounding the Grand Palance, complete with swan.

And this is me, on our way back to the airport for a 9 hour flight to Vancouver. Yup. Freakin’ tired.

I guess the last entry wouldn’t be complete without an “uber-cheese” shot, so here goes – Carly, Krista and I standing victorious at the Vancouver airport, looking buff, with our all-to-heavy packs, having successfully survived our travels, and wanting to go home and have a nap. End run-on sentence.

So there you have it, Japan in a nutshell. Now with that out of the way, we’ll hopefully be able to show you some pics of our new place in Singapore sometime in the upcoming few days.
Japan – DISNEYLAND!
So um, yes, we did go to Disneyland while we were in Tokyo, and to be honest, it was a great time. Yummy waffles and ice cream and space mountain and crazy people all decked out in their Mickey and Minnie ears, the works.
Here are some shots.

Yes, sweetheart, you’re tall enough to go on Space Mountain.
